Ford Mustang (1964-1970) – Classic Muscle Car
The Ford Mustang has to be one of the meanest looking, sexiest Muscle Car/Classic Car’s around. I love the look of the Classic Ford Mustang. This car has it’s own style. I would love to own one. The Mustang is still a very popular car and has continued to be manufactured. It has been through a number of different generations and redesigns. The first generation of the Ford Mustang was made from 1964 1/2 to 1973 and are one of the most collected cars in the world.
The Ford Mustang chassis was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact and it was first produced as a white convertible with red interior on March 9, 1964. It was launched to the public at New York’s World Fair on April 17, 1964 and was the most successful product launch in automotive history, setting a craze at Ford dealers across America. The Mustang is affectionately known as the “Pony Car”. Ford sold over 22,000 Mustangs on it’s first day and they had approximately a million sales in the first two years.
The main appeal of the Mustang was that it was affordable, sporty, had short trunk styling and had a myriad of options. In mid 1964, Ford introduced a sporty 2 x 2 fastback body style to go along with the hardtop coupe and convertible. The Fastback 2×2 Mustang, features a modified K-code 289cid V8 Engine with 306 hp. It was originally named after the fighter plane, the P-51 Mustang and later the horse Mustang became the emblem.
Add some exterior styling to your pony with a Mustang stripe kit
I would suggest putting this car on your list of Santa Claus presents, as this car is a definite winner.
